Ink Review

Mini Review: Vinta Inks | Night Sky [Tala 1980]

I originally reviewed this ink in 2020 – after picking it up at Vanness – but I’m revisiting it now that I have an actual website to post it to! It’s one of my everyday carries and I find it quite reliable, though my initial review wasn’t quite so glowing. So, here we go!

I love Vinta inks, but I find their shimmers run a little dry. Tala Night Sky was no exception, but a couple drops of White Lightning perfected it! After that, it’s been nothing but smoothing with a lovely, somewhat desaturated dark blue. The shimmer doesn’t always show through, even on Tomoe River paper, though the color of the ink itself is beautiful enough on its, making the bits of sparkle seem like gorgeous extras.

I have some additions 2.5 years later. I switched Tala Night Sky to a different pen and it really started to shine- literally! It’s currently in my Smoke TWSBI ECORG with a Broad nib.
